TOPIC: Setting up the cron job to auto generate the cache

Setting up the cron job to auto generate the cache 12 years, 9 months ago #28098

Hi

I've read about Magento cron jobs but do not really understand them. I run cron.php every 15 minutes but do not know how to add Mturbo to the list.

I would like to regenerate my cache at 3am every day. Can someone please provide me with the code etc needed in order to be able to do this. I've experimented but am getting nowhere.

regards,
Richard

Hello Richard,

You do not have to add M-Turbo to any list. The running cron.php every 15 min is alright, however you must correctly do additional settings in System/Configuration/System/Cron (see for ex. blog.magikcommerce.com/how-to-setup-a-cr...gento-cron-tutorial/)

You have to only se "Enable automatic cache refresh" and "Download time" in the M-Turbo Management.

If you see red message about that script is not executable, change permission to file app/code/local/Artio/MTurbo/Model/scripts/getstatichtml.sh.

So here is my cron job

0,30 * * * * wget -q www.iloveretrosweets.co.uk/cron.php

I have attached an image of my config settings in mturbo. At present nothing is being downloaded.
I have set the permissions on cron.php to 755

What am I missing here?

regards,
Richard

Ok, this looks right.

If automatic download still is not working, try to check follows:

1) Make sure that you have rightly set "Cron Schedule".

This setting on the picture is optimized for executing every 60 min. You can used half values.

2) Make sure that disk volume with your Magento is not mounted as "noexec". If so then you must put interpret (ex. /bin/bash) to field "Interpret for downloading script".
