I can not access my configuration file in Artio. When I click on the icon I get the error message:ARTIO JoomSEF Configuration file Writeable

I have uninstalled SEF 3 times, I have installed 4. Using both FTP and Joomla admin installer.

NOTHING works.

I have read other posts on this forum-but there is not definitive answer for this. Can you please help a guy out?

I bought both SEF3 and SEF4 and I have yet to get either of them working

BTW I am using Artio 4.0.2 and Joomla 1.6.3

I've also just encountered this problem - I suspect its got something to do with upgrading J! from 1.6.2 to 1.6.3

I'm using 4.0.2 - attempts to reinstall via the Artiro control panel fail w/ a msg about "Provided Download ID ". I can't check this out because of the "config file writeable" error!

I have now installed JoomSEF 4 on Joomla 1.6 to test this and I am unable to replicate this error.

Perhaps you can try this.

1) Install J! 1.6.2
2) Install JoomSEF 4
3) Upgrade manually to J! 1.6.3
4) Try to open JoomSEF configuration page

In my case this problem appears when JCE Editor were active. Try to turn off JCE Editor and go JoomSEF configuration.

This works for me too!
