TOPIC: 500 error on second attempt

500 error on second attempt 15 years, 8 months ago #6573

I have purchased a license for your software a couple of months ago to test on one of my active sites. It gave a 500 error at first but i was able to resolve that through modifying the .htaccess file.. but it failed to work But I could not get it to work properly with VM. As a result I had to go back to SH404SEF and run in legacy mode as it will not work properly in native mode or with the cache turned on. Did not want to do anything risky on live sites so i gave up on your application even though I had paid for it.

I thought I would try again with a simpler site that does not have VM. Sadly, 500 error from scratch and redoing the changes in htaccess file from before do not work. so i have disabled it again. Is there any way you can help me to either get this thing to work or give me a refund? I would much rather have SEF urls to be honest and run 1.5 native with the cache on.

thanks!
mark

Hello Mark!

I think there is no reason to be afraid of JoomSEF even when site is using VirtueMart.
It is successfully running on several thousands of sites.

I think the only problem is the configuration, which may be quite tricky on some server setups. Please, understand that the server setups can differ one from another and we are unable to write an installer than would work 100% on any configuration. It works on mosth of them however.

The 500 Internal server error is mostly connected with an issue of a directive included in .htaccess file that is not supported or prohibited to be used at your server. You may check with your server administrators for details, he should be able to give you a hand.

If you have problems with the configuration and you cannot manage it yourself, you can always purchase the JoomSEF installation and configuration service from us, when we will do this for you.
