1) you need to have "Use Apache mod_rewrite" option ENABLED
2) you can of course use cache, but if you want to see, if the changes we applied immediatelly, you have to purge the cache first

OK, but the apache mod_rewrite option was enabled until your precedent post... and it still works... i will re-enable this option...

As I told you, when i enable the cache in joomla configuration, the problem comes back...


Please, any other idea ??

I bought some plugins, and i hope i will be able to use the cache in my heavy web site...

So, what exactly is the problem now? If you are still seeing index.php as part of the URL, then I have to repeat that your JoomSEF is not active.

SEF URL go well for hours, but suddenly the url transform to:
www.domain.com/es/index.php/trabajar-en-medio-ambiente/congresos-y-jornadas-de-medio-ambiente/encuentro-iberoamericano-de-desarrollo-sostenible/actualidad-del-medio-ambiente/templates/rt_versatility4_j15_01/js/trabajar-en-medio-ambiente/

really extrange! (with "index.php" , with the name of the template "versatility, and a lot of categories names!!!)

i purge the SEF URL and go back to normality. at 5 or 6 hours another time the same problem.

Now, i have try to delete this from my htaccess:
DirectoryIndex index.php

perhaps this causes the error?

(i have joomla sef ON and mod_rewrite ON)

Please, identify the original non-sef URL for the URL presented in your post. That could give more information.

since I eliminated "DirectoryIndex index.php" from the htacces and disable de joomla cache all is going ok.
