I have the follwoing installed on my site:

• Joomla! 1.5.15 DutchJoomla! Stable
• JoomSEF 3.5.4
• VirtueMart JoomSEF 3 Extension 2.0.16

My total website goes blank, when I enable JoomSEF. I had hoped that the extension, that is just bought here, would fix it, but clearly doesn't.

Set server QUERY_STRING is already set to yes.

I totally have no clue, what is happening.

blank page means Fatal error with high probability.
Please, check your webserver logs (or set error reporting to maximum value) to find more about the reason.
For example, the reason may be, that the script memory has been used, or so.

We should be able to help you further when seeing the error message.

Which logging do you mean?

I would like an error message as well, because this makes debugging a hell.

In the error.log's of Apache is nothing visible.

PHP logging to a file didn't do a thing as well.

Where can I increase error levels? Joomla's logging doesn't really help, because the website isn't visible.

Memory is now set like this:
memory_limit = 32M

Seems to me already quite a lot or should it be more.

I meant error output level in Joomla Global configuration.
As regards apache log, are you 100% sure it is empty? Are you checking the correct log? Cases, when there is absolutelly no error output are very rate. In such case, it might not be related to PHP / Joomla at all.

32M memory limit is usually enough - usually, not always. :-)

I guessed I missed a restart of apache2. There is now an error visible in the error.log:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes)

And that is pretty clear to me.

Thanks for the hint to find the solution in probably too less memory.
