TOPIC: Virtuemart and JoomSEF Problems

Virtuemart and JoomSEF Problems 17 years, 7 months ago #2023

I recently installed and paid for JoomSEF w/ Virtuemart extenstion. It does not work for me. I did everything it asked me to but it makes my page no longer work.

Everything seems to be in working order but there are alot of problems.

If you view the store, you will notice none of the products are viewable. It makes this long url:
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/product-list/browse-by-style-size/t-shirts-jackets-hoodies/xxxx-large-4xl-/l-r-g-three-weeks-in-tj-tee-kelly.html

Which doesn't develop a site...

Here is my other problem, I have multiple Categories so people can search more fluently... this url should say

http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/product-list/lrg/l-r-g-three-weeks-in-tj-tee-kelly.html

However it chooses the other route, which I am sure would hurt my SEO.<br><br>Post edited by: michal, at: 2007/05/04 01:11

Okay Okay I fixed those two things... now I found a new issue!

I use child products so that I can track size inventory for each kind of shirt.

http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&amp;page=shop.product_details&amp;flypage=shop.flypage&amp;Itemid=26&amp;category_id=6&amp;product_id=81

When a child product is selected, this is generated.

&quot;More Images&quot; is also:
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&amp;page=shop.view_images&amp;flypage=shop.flypage&amp;product_id=33&amp;category_id=28&amp;Itemid=26

Manufacturer is also:
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index2.php?page=shop.manufacturer_page&amp;manufacturer_id=2&amp;output=lite&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=26

Cart Defaults to:
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index.php

Checkout, after login:
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index.php?&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;Itemid=26&amp;page=checkout.index

If I change the order of products or order by a different topic (price, etc):
http://www.napierdevelopmentinc.com/mindstate/index.php?orderby=product_cdate&amp;DescOrderBy=DESC&amp;Itemid=26&amp;option=com_virtuemart&amp;page=shop.browse&amp;category_id=6&amp;manufacturer_id=0&amp;keyword=&amp;keyword1=&amp;keyword2=&amp;limit=30

I do realize that a lot of these things are not things that need good SEO.
The reason I want to be able to do all these is because it makes the site more presentable.

Please help.<br><br>Post edited by: michal, at: 2007/05/04 01:13

Hello,

those links are not SEO, because they are generated using a JS script and redirection in VirtueMart, which does not call the needed SEF functions. Fixing this is possible, but would require quite extensive VirtueMart hacking.
