All of the sudden, I have thousands of urls being generated in jos_redirection table with the name \"home-####\"

There is /home-1 all the way up to /home-6889 all in sequential order. at one point my site broke and hundreds of links took on random names like /home-54 and they would all lead back to the home page.

I cleaned the cache and that fixed the problem but i am worried this will happen again.

I am using joomsef 2.24 and joomla 1.0.12. The main 3rd party comp. I use is Jom_Comment Pro 2.0.

Such URLs are usually generated for components, that do not have direct JoomSEF support. I would advice you to check what component is producing these (you can identify it by looking into the JoomSEF URL list) and switch the SEO URL generation off (or to no-cache) for this component.

If components generates such URLs, it means, it is written in a way, that does not work with JoomSEF out-of-box and that to have a \"nice\" URLs for it an special extension will be needed. (as we have for VirtueMart, Fireboard forums, SOBI2 or others).

Cleaning cache no. You would have to purge all the URLs that start witn home-. That would delete those from DB. (but would not prevent them to be recreated unsless \"prevent creation of new SEF URLs\" setting is on.
