Set up subdomain redirections (on the same domain)

Support forum for users using free edition of JoomSEF 3 (Joomla 1.5 compatible). These forums are mainly for mutual help between users.

Please note that due to our capacity limitations, we do not monitor these forums regularly.

Set up subdomain redirections (on the same domain) 15 years, 4 months ago #7565

I am looking for a solution to upgrading a site with lots(!) of subdomains set up like docs.site.com. forums.site.com, experts.site.com. These base urls point to content on the same domain (usually a component or article - there are hundreds).

Previously these were managed by 'Add a new site' with the now abandoned OpenSEF, however there's no clear item for this in JoomSEF.

I have looked through documentation and forums for adding multiple subdomain redirections with JoomSEF.

The features list says:

"support for multiple formats of URLs when using multiple languages - domain based: en.yoursite.com, de.yoursite.com, ... or path-based: yoursite.com/en, yoursite.com/de"



Please help point me in the right direction, as i'm looking at options with mod_rewrite to solve this issue - there must be a better way!!!
