I'm hoping someone can be kind and possibly shed some light on some things.

I'm a complete newbie at SEF and I'm a little confused.

I just installed Joomsef (free version) and the seyret extension.

After I enabled everything, do I manually change the urls in the view/edit url section or is there a centralized place to change them

Currently my urls are like

www.site.net/home/videodirectlink.html
www.site.net/home/videodirectlink/2.html

How would I change them to site.net/category/title-of-video-here.html ?

Do I need to manually change ALL these urls to display such?


And in my title, it has duplicated the title twice ie: funny videos - funny videos
Whereas I only have the title once. I have dynamic title turned off in general config thinking that was doing it, but nothing.

the seyret is buggy and is issues

the urls should generate dynamically

you can change the section and category part of your URLS in your artio config, its in the basic section fo the page near the top

as for the title issue. I have never had that happen on any website

make sure you have show page title on your content item parameters checked

Ok, I got the urls almost the way I want them, however they are displaying the seyret component in them

www.site.net/seyret/pride/brock-lesnar-mma-debut.html

I really don't want the seyret in there, would much rather have the word videos. How can I obtain this? Can I change something in the htaccess file?

I have it checked...the front page is the only page that displays the duplicate title.

seyret has huge issues that you may not be able to overcome.

my component names are being pulled from the components menu item index page.
