TOPIC: htaccess & unwanted modules

htaccess & unwanted modules 16 years, 10 months ago #3686

For some reason I was getting 404 errors after I installed JoomSEF, I tried everything (even different combonations of things) with the .htaccess then it started giving me 500 internal errors.

Even when I went back to the way the .htaccess was originally wrote it still gave me 500 errors which I never had in the first place (even after clearing cache and even waiting a half hour out of frustration) so i renamed it back to htaccess.txt and now no 404 errors but on 2 pages I'm getting a module in a position where something else or nothing at all is even placed yet.

www.sdhuntingparadise.com

if you look on the wildlife section there is supposed to be a menu and on the about us section there isn't supposed to be anything yet but they both have the testimonials module on the right side. In the module settings its only set to home and services............... Anyone know why this is doing this?

ok........guess i got it all to work..........just disabled then re-enabled JoomSEF and it removed the unwanted module from the page - all is well, great extension

Hello,

this might be Itemid related problem. Check that the SEO links contain the Itemid you need to see/hide the particular modules.
