Is there a way to make JoomSEF rewrite outgoing affiliate links? For example:

Original link:
click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=OF...p;type=3&subid=0

Rewrite to:
www.mysite.com/company/offer/123

I was thinking that the com_content extension would help with this but I have no idea how to do it. I would like this to happen automatically after entering the Original link into an article. Thank you.

I am afraid that is not easily possible.
A special extension would be needed that could take care about rewriting outgoing URLs and then taking care for redirection.

By default, JoomSEF will only rewrite "local" site links starting with "index.php...".

All praise be to Allah! I found a great solution to this issue! The ReReplacer component will replace anything in a Joomla website.

I am not sure if that component will help you either.

What you need is a script at your site, that will accept the URLs in "nice" format and then redirect them to the external URL. (which I am not sure the ReReplacer can do - it may replace the external link with the nice one, but it will not do the needed redirection)

Correct! Having the script for redirection is the easy part. I just needed something to dynamically rewrite the outgoing URLs as they dynamically come in via datafeeds. I am using Shorty (http://get-shorty.com/) to handle the redirection as it comes with a built in API.
