Dear Jason,

if you send us your site URL and access to it or paste your .htaccess here, we might be able to check it. As we want to help the users when we have capacity to do so, we will check your problem.

But otherwise, we cannot help you much. Joomla! itself is quite complicated and with v1.0 quite messy, not mentioning other 3rd party components, so there might be milion of resons why something does not work (usually with combination with something else).

However, in 98% of cases, it is either matter of wrong configuration or some custom or 3rd party hacks, etc.

Anyway, if you really want us to help, please, paste the information like .htacc here (not access ifnormation of course), or better send us the site access info to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hello Jason,

thank you for your post.

Well the .htaccess configuration seem to be ok to me. What you may still try is to uncomment the RewriteBase and keep it as "RewriteBase /", but with default Apache configuration it should not be neccessary. However you may give it a try.

I am afraid that to be able to help you further, we will need to check your site live. Please, if you want us to make JoomSEF work for you, contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and send us temporary access information to your site via FTP (or similar) and to Joomla Administrator. You can also send us your ICQ or Skype contact, so we can discuss with you online and help to solve this.

Alternativelly, if you do not wish to grant us access to the site, you can send us a copy of your code & DB, so we can setup it locally and test the JoomSEF there.

Best regards,
Honza

Dear Jason,

thank you for the access information. We have reinstalled JoomSEF 1.4.1 on your site and it seems to work fine now. I am not sure what was the problem there as we did not hit any obvious configuration problems. It has started to work right after reinstall.

Haven't there been any changes made to JoomSEF by someone?

Best regards,
Michal Unzeitig
