TOPIC: Artio SEF and mySql load

Artio SEF and mySql load 18 years, 2 months ago #254

Hi,

I have installed and configured Artio SEF. Everything works OK, but I noticed that my site works much slower now. I have checked the CPU usage and mySql uses almost 90% of processor when I have Artio SEF enabled. When I disable it, it's OK again.

What should I do?

Are other users also experiencing this or it happens only on my comuputer? I have tried several times to turn it off / on and it's definately this component that eats up to 100% of processor power for some seconds, causing the pages to load very long.

Any advice is very wellcome since I'd really like to use this component.

Thank you, Grega

Hello,

it is correct that JoomSEF will cause higher load of your DB server. It cannot be otherwise, because it needs to store the SEF URLs there. However, we haven't yet experienced that this would be a real issue to the speed of the site. At least not with average HW nowadays. Maybe you should check your server configuration and try to optimize it a bit. Or get a stronger HW.

Best regards,
Jirka

Just to let know if anyone hassimilar problem:
I have changed in my.ini form query_cache_size=19M to

query_cache_size=128M

and there's a big difference.

hi I had similar cp,laint from my admin.

I gave hime your tip
I have changed in my.ini form query_cache_size=19M to

query_cache_size=128M

and there's a big difference.

Below is the process that appears to push the load up 'SELECT newurl
FROM mos_redirection WHERE oldurl ='.
--------------------------------
51 | useri | localhost | db | Query | 0 | Sending data | SELECT newurl FROM mos_redirection WHERE oldurl = 'content/97.html' |
804 | user | localhost | vdb | Query | 0 | Sending data | SELECT newurl FROM mos_redirection WHERE oldurl = 'content/1532.html' |

Hello,

Yes I notice that now my pages take much more time to load, do you now where can I change the my.ini form? I am not a techie but if you tell me where exactly is this file I will appreciat it very much.

However, I love this component because it even creates SEF URL's for Virtuemart, the only bad thing is that it lowered the speed that my pages take to load

Regards,
Hector
