I am using the joomsef version 2.2.1

the 404 redirect setting does not seem to work


ie I tried to set to the joomsef 404 setting to the joomsef 404 page or to the joomla home page. but still when a user
arrives to an unknown page (domain name was changed from a hosting company to another with a new site version and the old pages are no longer available )

the site urls goes to a 404 page which is not the joomsef one and is not redirected to the home page either.

i tried to create an shtml file through cpanel and still the user is not redirected to the home page

is there another setting we need to change to redirect all old pages to the home page?


in the current situation, even if i select \"home page\" for the 404 setting it does not seem to do anything
