I am trying to move a Joomla website to a new web host. However, when the JoomSEF plugin is enabled all the links on the site go to "404 Not Found". I have tried following all the installation tips and guide here:

However all links persist as 404's. Thinking that maybe something is wrong with the webhost, I tried another web host but they too show 404 Not Found.

What is the best way to diagnose these errors? All the URLS show up in the JoomSEF plug in, the HTACCESS file is configured as per the guides and is taken as a copy from the old hosting.. but no go.

Any assistance is most appreciated!

the reason may be, that the .htaccess files are not supported (are being ignored) at the new host server.

Thanks for your reply :). If I install a new fresh copy of Joomla, everyting works with the Artio plugin. However, if I copy the same HTACCESS file from that install to the other Joomla site it still 404's.

...? Very confusing!
