I recently upgraded my website. Upon the purchase of the JoomSEF 3, I was running a version of Joomla 1.5. After the upgrade, I am now running Joomla 1.7.0.

I downloaded the JoomSEF 4.1, and installed it successfully.

However, when I go to "Components -> ARTIO JoomSEF -> Upgrade", I see the error message, "COM_SEF_DOWLOAD_ID_INVALID You will obtain the non-paid version of JoomSEF when launching upgrade from ARTIO Server."

Do I need to purchase another license to use JoomSEF 4.1? Or, can I use my existing JoomSEF 3 license?

Yes you must purchase new license for JoomSEF 4.1 - but you can purchase Upgrade package at www.artio.net/e-shop/joomsef/joomsef-4-upgrade
