TOPIC: Problem with installation

Problem with installation 15 years, 12 months ago #5370

I installed Artio SEO. Turned SEF in global on, rewrite mod changed to .htaccess. I have Joomla 1.5.8/legacy. Php version 5.2.6. Mysql. This is what I put in my .htaccess file.... RewriteEngine on

#AuthName "Restricted Area"
#AuthUserFile "/home/xxx.xxx/.htpasswds/public_html/passwd"

#RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^xxx.xxx/.*$ [NC]
#RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^xxx.xxx$ [NC]
#RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^www.xxx.xxx/.*$ [NC]
#RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^www.xxx.xxx$ [NC]
#RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp|js|css|html|swf|htm)$ - [F,NC]
#RewriteRule ^searchword/(.*)/ index.php?searchword=$1&option=com_search [QSA,NC]
# The line just below this section: 'Options +FollowSymLinks' may cause problems
# with some server configurations. It is required for use of mod_rewrite, but may already
# be set by your server administrator in a way that dissallows changing it in
# your .htaccess file. If using it causes your server to error out, comment it out (add # to
# beginning of line), reload your site in your browser and test your sef url's. If they work,
# it has been set by your server administrator and you do not need it set here.

I'm getting 404 errors. The new url appears but the error states it can't find the page. Let me also explain that I recently switched hosts, and changed templates. Everything was working fine before, but then I started having frontpage issues with a frontpage slider opening in frontpage and not in new window. Template company suggested disabling this extension... I uninstalled it and just reinstalled the newest version. This is a very valuable asset and would like to have it working again. Can you help me out with this. I may have messed up the format of this file.

Anyone?

Re:Problem with installation 15 years, 11 months ago #5385

All of the new urls are there so when I go to Artio comp and turn it on I can see the new urls but when you go to the page the url appears with a 404 error message.

Re:Problem with installation 15 years, 11 months ago #5390

I've copied the code from the installation instructions and I am still getting 404. I went into database and manually removed jos_redirection - unistalled and reinstalled Artio - still getting 404 error when enabled.

Re:Problem with installation 15 years, 11 months ago #5392

Okay. I've been writing to myself.. I'm learning..I renamed my old messed up .htaccess and created a new one copying the code provided, and it is all good. I just have one tab module that is opening up on frontpage that template co. saying SEO related.
