TOPIC: How to migrate from DocMan 1.4 to DocMan 4?

How to migrate from DocMan 1.4 to DocMan 4? 10 years, 5 months ago #44843

Hello,

I'm converting a Joomla 1.0.14 website to Joomla 3.2. As there is a big gap between the two webs, I'm building it from scratch.

One of the problems I have is that I must migrate a thousand documents from DocMan 1.4 to JoomDoc 4. I've copied all the DocMan to the new database (Joomla 3.2), but when I try to migrate using the backend operation I get this error: Unknown column 'section' in 'where clause' SQL=SELECT COUNT(*) FROM tsf3j_categories WHERE section = 'com_docman' AND parent_id IN (0)

As far as I understand, the problem is that the migration procedure doesn't work with Joomla 3.2, isn't it? What can I do to migrate all the documents to JoomDoc without creating them again?

Thank you for your help!

Hello, the problem is that Joomla 3 has different structure of table jos_categories then Joomla 1. The best way is to backup table jos_categories of Joomla 3 and then drop her. Then copy table jos_categories from Joomla 1 database into Joomla 3 database. After migration restore original table.

Hello jitr,

Your solution has worked for me, but now I have another problem: Table 'joomlaprova.tsf3j_sefurls' doesn't exist SQL=CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS tsf3j_sefurls_joomdoc3_migration_backup LIKE tsf3j_sefurls

What should I do, create an empty tsf3j_sefurls table?

Hello, did you use JoomSEF on the old web? Are documents migrated into JoomDOC?
