TOPIC: Folder Description

Folder Description 10 years, 3 months ago #45421

Good day,

Is there a way to add a description to a folder specifically?

Best,
Kenneth

Hello,

yes, that is possible.
You have to create document for certain folder and then write description in that document.

Thanks vebi!

Appreciate your prompt feedback.

I have added a document via the Joomdoc Admin interface, but then lose the 'folder' list function.

To clarify - on the front end, I want a 'explorer' like view of files and folders. If we were to click on a folder, we need to get the list of sub folders and files.

The problem is, if I add a document to the folder in the Admin interface (to create a description), whenever I then click on the folder from the main site, it now opens that document - as opposed to showing the list of subfolders & files.

I also note that, in Joomdoc4, we are no longer able to delete the document linked to the folder?

Best,
Kenneth

Hello, it is different. It should work with or without document in the same way. You should see document description and his sub-items below. Maybe you have enabled the option Document Parameters/Display files without document. Document cannot be deleted with JoomDOC 4. You can delete him manually from the database table #__joomdoc.
