Is it possible to switch off the seat selection part and go direct to the register or payment page? The client that wishes for this does not allow for reserving seats.

in the ticket administration you must create object (hall) and specify it's seats. In the ticket administration then just select the object and the ticket has required attribute seat. If you don't select the object, the seat can't be selected and also isn't required.
