TOPIC: Norweigian special letters ÆØÅ

Norweigian special letters ÆØÅ 11 years, 7 months ago #38030

Hello. I wonder if there is å sollution to get these letters to work. When I translate some of the files or write some of the notifications, these letters are not showing right.

Hello,

did you save file in utf8 charset? I have no problem to use your characters in *.ini file.

Ok, you probably have utf8 charset also in html head. What about your database? Does it use utf8?

Hello,

Yes, if you saved .ini file in utf8 and letters came perfect, you have probably set utf8 also in html document. But email notifications are saved in database. Can you check what charset is used there? It should be possible via phpmyadmin. For example my version of phpmyadmin shows this information on dashboard in upper right corner inside box MySQL.

It can be probably caused also by other things like settings of email client or mail function (email header) in php.
