Versions 1 and 2 are very similar at the moment. But version 2 offer some new features and it is compatible with Joomla 2.5+ (also with Joomla 3.0).
We know our documentation is not actual, but it can be still used. Some differences can be problem like Objects are called Bookable Items in the new version, but if you know Book it! 1, you will probably have no problems with actual version.

Appreciate the clear answer. And I am looking forward for an updated documentation (it does make a big difference for corporate users).
I will probably manage without documentation for while, and if I'm stuck, I will come back on the forum!

By the way, I could not find any RSS feed, in order to be updated when a new release is available. And same thing in the "newsflash" section, no feed. Did I miss something?

I am not sure I understand your question with RSS.

RSS feeds are not included in booking component. Can you specify any reason why RSS feeds should be included in this component?

Information about possible update should be visible on Control Panel, where is information about actual version.
And what do you mean with newsflash section? It is not part of this component, isn't it?

My question about RSS was not for the extension, but generally on your website artio.net.

Ok, newsflash RSS feed can be found in: http://www.artio.net/newsflash/rss

But there are not news about every version of any component. If you want to know that there is available update for Book it!, then I can only recommend you to check Control Panel or Check Updates page. There should be this information always we prepare new release.
