TOPIC: Free to Paid Upgrade

Free to Paid Upgrade 12 years, 9 months ago #28670

Hi!
I just purchased the paid version of the module, but i dont want to reinstall it because i have modified the css, 2 php files and inserted real data to my tests to evaluate the product really fit my needs.
Now i have downloaded the paid version but i noticed there is a tab in the admin-backend with an "ARTIO ID" blank textbox.
This is supposed to be to activate the product without reinstallation?

If not... can i overwrite the module (except the files i have modified) and all the configuration data i have entered for testing will be there after that ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, I think you should reinstall because free version has restriction for number of objects.
You don't have to reinstall through component updater. You can download package from ARTIO server, unpack it and synchronise with your current installation.

Well, i finally decided to install over the existing installation.

Result:

General configuraton was lost: So if you want to do the same, make capture-screen of the configuration tabs to know what you changed :P
Objects (and their pictures) remain intact: Good!
Files obviously was replaced: So if you changed any non-core files (css, forms phps..), backup them before reinstall the component and after overwrite them back.

That's All.

Hope this will help anyone in my same situation, because sometimes you have to full customize a test component to know if it fits exactly to your needs... and this was one of this times!

Good Work Artio :)
