It is very important that I change the hourly booking times to a 12 hour clock instead of the default 24 hour clock.
A 24 hour clock for sites in the US are very confusing to customers needing to book a reservation.

Please advise as this change is crucial to my client's website.

You can define your date/time formats in configuration. Configuration -> Main -> Date Format -> Use custom formats.
Then you will modify Time to something like '%l:%M %p' (without quotes)

I found the configuration setting, but it still does not work - shows 00:00 in a 24 hour clock.
I do understand the format parameters, but it's not working for me.

This is what I want to see 9:00AM-----------------9:00PM
