Hi,

I'm using JoomSEF on a webserver where magicquotes are enabled (can't change that), and I'd like to turn quotes in titles into dashes, for use with French content.
For instance: Offres d'emploi should turn into offres-d-emploi instead of offres-demploi.

I can't do it on the server I use because single quotes get escaped each time I try to use the non-ASCII characters replacement table.

Is it possible in JoomSEF 1.5, or should I upgrade to 2.2?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

On a website I setup the menus are almost completely unrelated to the categories/sections. Because of this the generated SEF URLs and the navigation are completely at odds with each other.

Can JoomSEF generate URLs according to menu hierarchy? It would also be great if menu items with items under them ended with / and not .html.
For example, News>Archives>may>Great news (content) would turn into news/archives/may/great-news.html and News>Archives>may> would turn into news/archives/may/.

I know there may be some issues with duplicate content if something was linked to from different menus but that's a consequence I could bear.

I have tried looking under the hood and doing it myself but don't have the time to look at it closely enough...

Hi,

In configuration.php, did you type a trailing slash in $mosConfig_live_site? If so, try removing it, like so:
$mosConfig_live_site = 'http://wwwmysite.com';

Instead of
$mosConfig_live_site = 'http://wwwmysite.com/';

Hope that helps, don't forget to rename this topic with [Solved] if this solves your problem.
