TOPIC: how display / at end of custom sef url ?

how display / at end of custom sef url ? 11 years, 9 months ago #36377

joomla 2.5.8

joomsef free 4.3.0

when i create an article, i need to display a forward slash at end of the article title alias:

www.mysite.com/custom-article-name/

reason is that site will have only a few articles and each article needs to look like a top-level directory index.php file so going to the directory should trigger the article

i've tried a few settings but i find that if i put a / as the "file suffix" that the custom url goes to a 404 instead of to the article

thanks :-)

is this a possibility with the pro version?

or, can you do something like have /my-custom-article/index.php for all articles rather than having to put .php on the end of each article name?

/my-custom-article/index.php --- yes
/my-custom-article.php --- no

whatcha think?

thanks :)

Hi,

The paid version doesn't offer anything special for this.
It is not possible to add the /index.php to article URLs.

But you should be able to have the slash at the end by setting File suffix to "/". Make sure that the "Remove trailing slash?" option is disabled on the Advanced tab. If that doesn't help try also disabling the "Be tolerant to trailing slash?" option there.

Also use the JoomSEF's URLs Manager and check that the SEF URLs are stored with the slash. If they're not, make sure to delete or update them, so they can be recreated with the new settings.
