this is what I got when I tried the new update???? I just paid $30 in March for SEF3, another $30 in April for SEF 4, and a couple months later I have to pay $14. for the SEF4 upgrade that does not work?

Can someone help me with this? I have paid a lot of money for this not to work

I can not access my configuration file in Artio. When I click on the icon I get the error message:ARTIO JoomSEF Configuration file Writeable

I have uninstalled SEF 3 times, I have installed 4. Using both FTP and Joomla admin installer.

NOTHING works.

I have read other posts on this forum-but there is not definitive answer for this. Can you please help a guy out?

I bought both SEF3 and SEF4 and I have yet to get either of them working

BTW I am using Artio 4.0.2 and Joomla 1.6.3

I looked at your FAQ's on this and it does not give any direction on what to do about it-just tells us what is causing it and that does not give me a clue how to fix it.

However, I was unable to find a concrete description of a step by step process to get my website back online. I have had to delete my .htaccess file

I guess I am stupid because I can use just about any component in Joomla and I always have trouble with my SEF.

I don't need Joomfish, but my config is searching for it anyway. I have tried to change the settings to "do not add" in language integration, but my admin panel stalls out everytime. It won't save or cancel-Nothing- I can't even switch tabs. I just X out of the admin panel on my browser and start over-around and around we go!

Oh, I should have mentioned that my front page is not loading-this is the error:
Fatal error: Class 'JoomFishManager' not found in /home/vetsinpa/public_html/components/com_sef/joomsef.php on line 632

Ok, so that was fixed, now how do all my articles, and links (menu items) work? I get the front page, but when I check a link, any link, I get the 404 page?
I have gone through the manual a zillion times and I can't see where all my info went-of course it is "contents" in my admin area, but no way to navigate to it from the front page?
PLEASE HELP! I have been down for 4 days now!

What happend to all my menu links? When ever I click on a menu item I get the 404 page. The only thing that shows/works is the front page.
Even the custom 404 page I added in the SEF configuration does not show

I am setting up SEF and I remember I tried doing this a few years back and it was too technical so I quit and deleted everything.

I thought I would try this again, thinking it's been a few years and it certainly has gotten easier!
NOPE!

First of all, none of my content (other than the front page) or any of my links worked

So then I set the htaccess to 666 thinking that was the problem,

I then went back to the manual to continue with the configuration and when I tried to enable rewrite, my website crashed and I got an internal error and I am not able to access my Joomla! admin

Can You help me please???????

I know I can pay to have this installed, but I paid for the component-I should not have to pay for the service.
