Answer
Libraries pdf2text and catdoc should be free, so you don't have to pay for it.
PDF2TEXT (PDFTOTEXT) SHOULD BE FREE:
Debian, Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install xpdf
Centos, RedHat:
sudo yum install xpdf
Update: If the package xpdf is not available use pdftotext from poppler-utils
sudo apt-get install poppler-utils
sudo yum install poppler-utils
Windows:
www.foolabs.com/xpdf/download.html
CATDOC (CATDOC, CATPPT, XLS2CSV):
Debian, Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install catdoc
Centos, RedHat:
sudo yum install catdoc
Windows:
blog.brush.co.nz/2009/09/catdoc-windows/
On Windows you have to set manually CLASSPATHS to bin folders of those libraries. Catdoc has also catppt and xsl2csv. Do not forget to add them to CLASSPATHS too.
